Geography & Climate

The total combined area of the group Islands is 8,249 and has a total of 572 Islands. Only 36 islands out of 572 are inhabitable. 92% of the total land area of The Andaman & Nicobar are covered with very dense forest.

The climate is tropical and humid with 70%-90% humidity which makes October-May an ideal tourist season.June to September is the perfect time for Monsoon Holidays.

It's only the Andaman group of Islands which is open for Tourism and The Nicobar group of Islands is out of bounds for Tourism activities because the majority of people living in the Nicobar Islands are Tribals.

Currently, 26 islands under Andaman group of Islands are open for tourism. The island is full of tropical vegetation and has a dense forest belt which includes exotic variety flora and fauna.

HOW TO VISIT: Located at 30 km from Port Blair city.For visiting this place one can rent car or bike.

POPULAR FOR: Snorkelling activity, White beaches, dense forest & beautiful coral.

HOW TO VISIT: Ship leaves from Wandoor(Port Blair) at 9 AM to this Island.

HOW TO VISIT: Govt. The ferry which operates from Port Blair to this Island is the only option available.

POPULAR FOR: MOUNT HARRIET is the highest peak in Andaman, Trekking to Madhuban(16 Km long trek through forests) and Bird watching.

HOW TO VISIT: Tourists can take a ferry from Chatham jetty(Haddo, Port Blair) to bamboo float and then take an auto rickshaw to the park.It is an almost 1-hour journey.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITY: A guest house is available for tourists to rest.



POPULAR FOR: Dense forest with tribes, boats, beaches, birds, caves, mangroves, trekking routes, volcanos & Limestone Caves.

HOW TO VISIT: 110 Km long route from Port Blair passing through Jarawa Tribe reserve to reach Nilambur Jetty.After reaching Nilambur Jetty switch to Ferry which will go directly to Baratang Island.

HOW TO VISIT: Bus operates from Port Blair to RANGAT or one can also take Ferries from Havelock, Neil and Long Island to reach here.

HOW TO VISIT: Tourists can reach here by government boats from Havelock Island and Rangat Island.
