Wildlife : Tour in Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary

Location : Situated in the Warangal district.

Area : 860 sq.kms.

Best Time to Visit : November-June.

Access : Air : Nearest Airport is at Hyderabad. Rail : Nearest railway station is at Warangal. Road : The nearest railhead is at Warangal & is 130 km. by road from Hyderabad. The sanctuary is well connected by state buses. 

Climate : The annual temperature ranges from 15 degee C to 40 degree C.

Introduction : Pakhal sanctuary situated in the Warangal district has an area of about 860 sq.kms. This huge manmade lake is enveloped by forested hills. It has dry deciduous mixed type of forests with bamboo & mixed teak forests.

Wildlife Species : The wild life found here are the spotted deer, sambar, nilgai, wild boar, gaur, python, wild dogs, foxes, jackals, hyena, sloth bear, panther, tiger & ducks, teals, cormorant, spoon bills & storks. Accomodation : Forest & Tourist rest house at Pakhal & Warangal.
