Mcleod Ganj to Triunda-Laka & back
This is a short trek which covers Mcleod Ganj, Triund-Laka and then back to Mcleod Ganj. It is a beautiful walk through mixed forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron. Triund is situated on a ridge and has a beautiful view of the whole Kangra Valley at one side and Dhauldhar range on the other. Laka is situated at the snout of a small glacier called snow line. Bhagsu Nag Temple can be visited on this route.
Sarahan-Wangtu Trek
This is an easy and pleasent trek of 4 to 5 days along the old Hindustan-Tibet road. From Sarahan the trail leads through the typical villages of Sungra and Nechar where a few ancient temples are located. There are several rest houses along the route, some dating back to 1890. One of the main attraction of this trail is the local colour and the traditional way of life of the inhabitants.
Rafting
River Beas, in Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh, is a haven for extreme kayakers and beginner rafters alike. The upper reaches of the Beas river, near Manali provide an unequalled class 4+ section for extreme kayakers. The same river 40 km down stream provides for a 2-4 hours raft trip suitable for all levels of expertise. The commercial sections for rafting on Beas are limited.
