   25 Mar 2024
  SHIVPURI RISHIKESH, UTTARAKHAND
Organized By: ATOAI - Adventure Tour Operators Association of India
The 11th Annual Convention of ATOAI, held from March 25th to 27th, 2014, marked a pivotal moment for the adventure tourism industry in India—particularly for the state of Uttarakhand, which was still recovering from the devastating floods of 2013, the country’s worst natural disaster since the 2004 tsunami. Choosing Uttarakhand as the host destination was both symbolic and strategic—a conscious effort to restore confidence, promote revival, and celebrate resilience. It was an opportunity to unite the industry, heal through shared purpose, and chart a bold new path forward for adventure tourism in India. Set against the inspiring backdrop of the River Ganga, the three-day convention welcomed over 150 delegates, including domestic and international buyers, policymakers from central and state governments, and leading media decision-makers. The atmosphere was charged with energy, innovation, and optimism, as new ideas and initiatives took shape.
