New Delhi, May 18, 2026: The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) successfully hosted the National Seminar on “Indian Adventure Tourism: Risk Management” at The Park Hotel, New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, tourism officials, industry leaders, insurance experts, legal professionals, and adventure tourism stakeholders from across the country.

The seminar focused on strengthening India’s adventure tourism ecosystem through enhanced risk management practices, robust safety standards, and stronger regulatory frameworks. Discussions explored best practices in risk management, safety protocols across adventure activities, insurance and legal compliance, regulatory mechanisms, and the role of media in fostering awareness and accountability.

A key outcome of the seminar was the formulation of recommendations for a National Roadmap for Adventure Tourism Risk Management, designed to align India’s adventure tourism sector with global best practices while addressing the country’s unique operational and geographical realities.

The event reinforced ATOAI’s commitment to promoting safe, sustainable, and responsible adventure tourism and supporting its vision of positioning India among the world’s leading adventure tourism destinations.

ATOAI Annual General Meeting (AGM) & Elections 2026

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) successfully convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for FY 2025–26 on 1 September 2026 at The Park Hotel, New Delhi.

The AGM brought together ATOAI members to review the Association’s achievements, financial performance, key initiatives and priorities for the year ahead. Discussions reflected ATOAI’s continued commitment to strengthening adventure tourism safety, professionalism, standardisation, advocacy and member engagement across India.

Key Highlights

  • Review of ATOAI’s achievements and initiatives, including engagement with the Ministry of Tourism, BIS, State Governments and other key stakeholders.
  • Continued advocacy for stronger adventure tourism safety standards and risk management frameworks, including the adoption of ISO 21101 – Adventure Tourism Safety Management System.
  • Progress in Responsible Adventure Tourism Guide (RATG) training, First Aid, CPR and other capacity-building initiatives across India.
  • Continued engagement towards the National Adventure Tourism Framework and strengthening of the National Board for Adventure Tourism.
  • Presentation and approval of ATOAI’s audited financial accounts for FY 2025–26.
  • Discussion on membership growth, retention and enhanced member participation.
  • Recognition of ATOAI’s national conventions, webinars, FAM trips, member initiatives and business development programmes.

Elections & Leadership Transition

The AGM also marked an important leadership transition for ATOAI, with the election proceedings conducted under the supervision of Returning Officer Mr. Rajiv Kohli. The outgoing leadership expressed its appreciation to ATOAI members, office bearers, Executive Committee members and the Secretariat for their collective contribution to the Association’s growth and development.

The AGM concluded with a shared commitment to carry forward ATOAI’s legacy and further strengthen its role as a leading voice for safe, responsible, sustainable and professional adventure tourism in India.
